# Insider trades (Form 4): `POST /v1/sec/insider_trades`

Cost: 4 credits (4 (an empty answer, an unknown company and failed requests are free)). Docs: https://scrapercompany.com/docs/reference/sec-insider-trades

Every transaction in the company's most recent Form 4 filings: the
insider and their role (director, officer and title, 10% owner), the
security, date, transaction code and its meaning, shares, price and
value, shares held afterwards, direct or indirect ownership, whether
it was under a 10b5-1 plan, and option exercise details.
`summary` totals open-market purchases (`P`) and sales (`S`), counting
a trade filed twice (an amendment, joint filers) once. A long read stops
before the time limit and says `truncated`.

Request body (JSON):

- `company` (string; required; pattern ^(\d{1,10}|[A-Za-z][A-Za-z0-9.\-]{0,9})$): Ticker (`AAPL`, `BRK.B`) or SEC CIK number (`320193`). Find the CIK of a company without a ticker, a fund or a person by name with `POST /v1/sec/companies`. An insider's own CIK returns that person's trades in every company.
- `limit` (integer; optional; default 10; min 1, max 40): Form 4 filings read, newest first.
- `since` (string (date) | null; optional): Earliest filing date.
- `codes` (array of string; optional; max items 20): Transaction codes to keep: `P` open-market purchase, `S` sale, `A` grant, `M` option exercise, `F` shares withheld for tax, `G` gift. Empty keeps every code.
