Amazon scraper API for product search, prices and reviews
Search amazon.com the way a shopper does and get each result as JSON: ASIN, title, price, rating, ratings count and whether it is sponsored. Then read a product’s star breakdown and the reviews Amazon features on its page.

Endpoints and prices checked against the API on
Brands, sellers and analysts watch Amazon search to see where products rank, what competitors charge and how ratings move. Amazon’s own APIs are not built for that: the Selling Partner API covers a seller’s own listings and orders, and catalog access for affiliates goes through the Associates program. This API reads the public search results page instead, about 48 products per page and up to 20 pages, in Amazon’s own sort orders. Sponsored placements are labelled, not removed, so you see the page as shoppers do.
Two things about Amazon shape the data. Prices are shown in the visitor’s local currency, so price_text keeps the price exactly as displayed and currency names it; nothing is relabelled as USD. And the full review list is only shown to signed-in users, so the reviews endpoint renders the product page in a real browser and returns what any visitor sees there: the share of ratings at each star level, the global ratings count, and the featured reviews with their Verified Purchase labels and helpful votes.

Does Amazon have an official API for product data?
Not one open to everyone. Amazon’s catalog API for affiliates, the Creators API, is the successor to the Product Advertising API and is available only to Amazon Associates whose accounts have recent qualifying sales. The Selling Partner API is for sellers and vendors managing their own listings and orders. ScraperCompany is independent of Amazon: this API reads the public amazon.com pages and needs no Associates or seller account.
How do I find a product’s ASIN?
Every search result carries asin, Amazon’s 10-character product ID. It is also in any amazon.com product URL after /dp/ (for amazon.com/dp/B084PBWBJR the ASIN is B084PBWBJR). Pass it to the reviews endpoint.
Which marketplace and currency are the prices in?
Search runs on amazon.com. Amazon displays prices in the visitor’s local currency and this API does not set a country, so a result can come back in USD, CAD or another currency. price_text keeps the price exactly as Amazon showed it and currency names the currency; prices are never relabelled as USD.
Can I get every review for a product?
No. Amazon shows the full review list only to signed-in users, so the reviews endpoint returns what the product page shows any visitor: the featured reviews, the percentage of ratings at each star level and the total ratings count. It renders the page in a real browser, so an answer takes seconds rather than under one.
How do paging and sorting work in search?
Each page returns about 48 products and page goes up to 20. sort takes Amazon’s own orders (featured, price low to high or high to low, average customer review, newest arrivals) and min_rating applies Amazon’s rating filter. Each page is a separate call, and an empty page is free.
Do failed requests cost credits?
No. A failed or blocked call (any 4xx or 5xx response) costs 0 credits, and so does a search page that comes back empty. You pay only for successful results.
How do I get an API key?
Create an account on the sign-up page. Public sign-up is invite-only during the beta, so join the waitlist there and we will email you when your account is ready. The Free plan includes 1,000 credits a month, and the API is free while it is in beta. You create and rotate keys yourself in the dashboard.
